Community First Responders Appeal

Support Hixon Community First Responders

Community First Responders (CFRs) are rapid response medical volunteers, who are trained, equipped and supported by the NHS. Hixon CFRs are initially being set up by Hixon Memorial Hall (Charity No 223999) and will operate within a radius of 10 miles from the base in Hixon, which includes a large area of rural communities, farms and industrial premises. CFRs are trained and equipped to attend 999 calls passed to them by West Midlands Ambulance Service and they will attend life threatening situations within the local area, offering medical care in the vital first few minutes of an incident, before the paramedics arrive.

How can you help? CFRs can only offer this service with the help of kind donations from the community in which they operate. The ongoing costs for a CFR unit will consist of maintenance and insurance for the vehicle, uniforms and footwear and replacement of equipment when required.

Any donations, large or small, will help to keep Community First Responders as an effective first line of response for medical emergencies in our community. If you wish to become involved in any way, please get in touch.
